It’s a few days before winter break, and Concord wanted a fun way to hit it off, but the eyes weren’t on the usual volleyball athletes. Instead, the boys were brave enough to step on the volleyball court to play a fun game of He-man on Monday, December 15, 2025, a tri-match between the seniors, juniors, and freshmen. The buzz in the air was undeniable as the varsity and JV volleyball players led their teams of determined athletes.
The game started, freshmen against juniors. Luke Burrow from the freshman team started the game with the first serve. As the freshman knew the juniors were going to give 100%, the freshman came ready to give 110%, and the intense game overall ended with a score of 25-12. The intense game overall ended at 25-12. Leading the freshman to victory in the first game, Hagen Stimer, a fearful freshman said his favorite part of the game was winning while playing up against upperclassmen, explaining how they remained fearless through it all.

Starting the second match of a fierce game, the seniors against the freshmen. Senior Trenton Frazer served first, giving the seniors a powerful start. The seniors being able to spectate the freshman’s previous game gave them a bit of knowledge of what to expect. It was neck and neck the whole game as both teams were striving for a win. The last serve was a very intense one, but it was a fumbling opportunity for the freshman, as this led the seniors to winning the final, with a score of 27-26. Tylend Allen, a senior on the team, explains how it created an entertaining environment as it gave the boys an opportunity to bond and most of all to have fun. Allen has attended he-man every year since his freshman year, and as a senior he enjoyed the nostalgia of it.
Starting the last game of the upperclassmen teams, the seniors against the juniors. The seniors came ready to wreck but the juniors refused to take another loss. It was determined that if the juniors won, the freshmen were the overall champions which gave them the motive to cheer wonderfully with pleasure. Easton Woolworth started this game with a powerful serve giving the juniors a great start. The seniors then gained some sort of confidence, but it may have got lost in the last minutes of the game as the juniors had a powerful comeback from their previous games against the freshman. Playing much harder than the first game, this led the juniors to complete this match with a win of 25-23, though the freshman to the overall victory.

“Beating the seniors felt like a great accomplishment, although we weren’t too familiar with the rules. Getting stuck in the net was a big struggle,” junior Adam Miller explained.
Laughter and a bit of frustration echoed throughout the gym. Both teams came full of support, continuously motivating one another while celebrating big and small accomplishments. The constant encouragement was heard from each team and their coaches all day long.
Students and teachers gathered in the gym ready to see what the teams had in store. All teams played to their best ability, which even caused funny mistakes that shook the room with laughter. This day was full of competition, memories, and especially community. A huge thank you to all the teachers, coaches, and students that came to not only support but also help the guys to have this experience. The game was full of fun and not only for the guys that played, but also for the ones who watched.
