Hannah Stimer, a caring, hardworking, and kind spirit, deserves this week’s senior spotlight. She is involved in many different sports and clubs, which has taught her great responsibility and made her willing to help anyone in need. Thus giving more evidence as to why she deserves this accolade.
Stimer has been here since preschool. During that time, she has made many memories. Stimer recalls her favorite memory so far: “All the experiences that I have had through sports.” During her free time, she enjoys hanging out with family and friends.
Stimer has participated in many sports and clubs. She has played girls’ golf, basketball, and softball all four years and has participated in many more. Currently, she is president of the NHS and Student Council. She has experienced considerable success in golf. This year the entire girls’ golf team made it to state and won Academic All-State. Mr. Bauman, the girls’ golf coach talks about her time on the team: “As a freshman, it generally doesn’t happen, but as she gained experience, she continued to get better and braver every year.” He also stated, “Hannah was always willing to try new things and see if it helped. Another challenge is being brave enough to call out other players when they are not counting their strokes accurately.”
After high school, Stimer plans to major in early education. She plans to stay close to home, but she has not decided where she wants to go to school. When asked what she will miss most about Concord, she states, “I am one of those people who enjoy coming to school. I like having a routine and doing something every day and hanging out with people I grew up with.”
Senior Grace Thorrez has been friends with Stimer since the 6th grade, and their bond has only gotten stronger since then. During that time, they shared many great memories. Thorrez had a hard time picking her favorite memory that she had shared with her, but she finally concluded: “When we are dying laughing and crying. Those happen very often.”
Thorrez also shares something people might not know about Stimer: “She is louder than she looks. She is really funny and not a lot of people know that.”
Having siblings in the building can be a wild ride, but Stimer enjoys having school with her sister, sophomore Haley Stimer. They do many things together, both inside and outside of school. During their time together, Haley talks about her favorite memory in high school: “Playing a lot of sports together. She has been a leader for all of them and she is very helpful. ” She also shares, “I will miss not having my sister around.”
Stimer had a hard time picking a teacher because she enjoys having a class with all of them. But she finally picked a teacher with whom she had spent a lot of time. Mr. Couling the art teacher enjoys her amazing work and her great personality. He has taught her since 8th grade and has seen her grow into an artist and a person she is today. Mr. Couling talks about what she brings to Concord, “Her hard work. She is involved in a lot of sports, student council, and other clubs. Not everybody can do that.”
Learning many things along the way, Stimer shares some advice for younger students: “Don’t give up and enjoy the time that you have. I know it sounds cliche but it is true.”
Congratulations, Hannah Stimer. Concord wishes you well in the next chapters of your life. We will miss your kind spirit, dedication, and thoughtfulness.
