This week, we have decided to shine the spotlight on an amazing, smart, sweet, and loving young lady, Julia Stevens. Julia is a 2026 Senior at CHS. We are overjoyed to shine a light on her this week.

Stevens began attending Concord in second grade and has built great relationships with so many people. Julia has made many friends along the way, but her two best friends have left a huge impact on her life. Bella Coppernoll and CeCe Barrett have been great friends of Stevens’ for a while now. Stevens and Coppernoll have been friends since 5th grade, while Barrett came a little later in 8th grade. All of the girls are now seniors at CHS and have built a very close bond.
Coppernoll met Stevens in 2018 when Julia skipped 4th grade and came into her 5th-grade class. Coppernoll talks about how much fun she had at a baseball game with Julia, and they had a sleepover afterwards. Also, another time when they babysat together, and after the kids fell asleep, they stayed up for a while and had deep conversations. Bella describes Julia as empathetic, kind, intelligent, supportive, loyal, and genuine. Bella explains, “I’m most proud of Julia for how kind and loyal she is; she is always going out of her way to help others. She is also very hard-working and dedicated to the community, family, friends, and her schoolwork.”
Barrett and Stevens met one day in robotics. While they have shared many memories, Barrett says that her favorite times with Julia have been at golf practice and sledding at Bella’s together. “I would describe Julia as smart, funny, and hardworking,” Barret states. She is most proud of Julia for her efforts to always try new things and her perseverance through anything life throws her way. Julia has all the traits of a great friend, and anyone who she meets is lucky.
Julia is a National Honor Society Vice President, as well as the President of the Student Council. Stevens is very proud of accomplishing these things during her time here at Concord. Mrs. O is the advisor of the Student Council and refers to Julia as her ‘Sweet Angel Child’. Mrs. O loves Julia and says, “She is super organized and on top of everything… She’s a very quiet leader who would rather sit back and let people be the best they can be. Julia would rather support people; it’s not just about her being her best self, but making people around her be their best selves.” Julia is truly one of the most selfless people you will ever meet.

Julia is an honor roll student who is adored by every teacher, peer, and administrator she comes in contact with. While still in high school, her favorite classes have been Multi-Media with Ms. Kelly and Leadership with Mrs. O. Ms. Kelly speaks very highly of Stevens. “Julia is the first student to participate in Publications for four years. I honestly don’t know what we will do without her. Her ability to celebrate other students’ successes and highlight the best of our Concord community through her journalism, as well as her consistently improving photography skills, has been such an asset at our school.”
Stevens does her best to stay positive and be kind to all. She speaks to everyone she sees and tries to keep everyone involved in what’s going on at the school and in the community. This year, Julia participated in Girls Varsity Golf. She is also the Girls Varsity Basketball Manager. After high school, Stevens plans to attend Michigan State to study psychology.
In Stevens’ free time, she enjoys spending quality time with friends and family, reading, watching TV, and taking photos. She enjoys taking pictures for other students, but never so much being the one photographed. Julia has always put others over herself and prides herself on making sure others are included in things.
Julia is truly a light in the Concord Community. She sets examples for the next students to come and has truly made a lasting impact in Concord. We are so excited to see where life will take her after high school.
