Homecoming 2025 is here and has brightened the mood for many high schoolers around Concord with the upcoming dress-up days and school spirit throughout the hallways.
The first day was pajama day, which was also probably the most participated in spirit day of the week. Many cozy high schoolers were walking through the hallway, one of them being Liliana Vandenburgh. Vandenburgh shares, “ I think a lot of people dressed up today because it was definitely the one where you are the most comfortable. I knew for sure I was doing it.”
Tuesday was Jersey vs Jersey Shore day; there were also many students showing off school spirit with participation in the many different jerseys and Jersey Shore actors. While there were many jerseys, one of the ones that stood out to me was Jeff Thomas’s jersey. Thomas shares, “Jersey day was really fun for me because I don’t really like wearing jerseys to school for no reason, but I recently just bought this brand new Lions jersey that I wore, and I thought looked really cool.”
On Wednesdays, we wear pink. It was based on the movie Mean Girls, and was also a dress-up day. Marissa Mandrelle shares about it, “It was fun and the movie Mean Girls inspired it, and it was actually on Wednesday, so that made it a lot cooler.”
On Thursday, it was rhyme without a reason; there were also many great ideas for this day, with all the different kinds of rhymes and fun outfits. Tyler Rundle chose to dress up for this day. Rundle shares, “I thought Thursday was a lot of fun because I got to dress up with Jermaine; it was also a lot of fun seeing everyone’s creative ideas. I think my favorite though was Mrs. Sigman and Mrs.O, who dressed up as fairy and dairy.”
And finally, Friday was Purple and Gold day. It was also the day of the homecoming football game and the pep assembly. Students around CHS were filling the air with excitement and happiness, eager to get the day over with to start all of the homecoming festivities. One person who was really excited in particular was Bella Coppernoll. Coppernoll shares, “ I was excited for the homecoming assembly because we all come together through different grades and compete, but also have fun while we do it, and another reason I really enjoyed it was because of how we build school spirit through events like this.”
The final results for the homecoming parade were the juniors in last place, freshmen in third place, sophomores in second, and seniors won. It is officially a wrap for homecoming 2025. Thank you to everyone who participated and helped with the setup and planning. We hope to see even more school spirit within the rest of the school year.
