This week, we shine our spotlight on an exceptional senior at Concord, Jaylin Knoblett. She has made a huge impact throughout her time here, which is why we are honored to write about her.
Knoblett began here in eighth grade. Coming during the height of COVID, she had an interesting experience. She explains, “It was weird because all of them had this big experience together; meanwhile, I had no idea who these people were and did not get to know them before experiencing it. It was harder to get to know everyone, but eventually I did.” In the past five years, she has made countless memories originating from classes, clubs, and friends. Some of her favorite memories came about during her freshman year, Knoblett shares: “I loved freshman year volleyball season, we had a lot of fun.”
While at Concord, she has had the chance to become a leader in many positions. She is currently the president of the National Honor Society and PR officer for the student council. In terms of sports, she was a member of the volleyball team for the past three years.
After graduation, Knoblett plans to attend a four-year university to study pre-med in order to become a cardiologist. She is working towards her goal this year by taking some classes that will give her basic knowledge on the subject. When asked where she sees herself in five years, she responded: “I see myself graduating from college, then attending med school.”

Other than school and sports, Knoblett enjoys spending her time doing many things. Her favorite hobbies are hanging out with friends, working, and shopping. Her favorite movie has always been the Divergent Series, and her favorite song is Pushing It Down and Praying by Lizzy McAlpine. When asked if there is anything not many people know about her, she shared an interesting fact: “Not many people know that I have a fear of steak. I refuse to eat it.”
With so many memories, there is much to miss after graduation. She shares that she will definitely miss her hometown friends. She will also miss some of her teachers dearly. She credits Mrs. O for having the largest impact on her in high school: “She has made me feel so comfortable in the classroom, and she is always a safe place for me to go.”
Emma Burbo is one of Knoblett’s closest friends. They first met in eighth grade, hitting it off immediately. Burbo explains her first impressions of her: “She was a very loud and fun person, once I got to know her.” In the past five years, they have made countless memories together, whether it be during their random drives together or just doing random stuff at each other’s houses. When it comes time for college, Burbo will miss her dearly. She says, “I will miss her very bubbly and outgoing personality. Her slowness will always make me laugh.”
One of Knoblett’s favorite teachers and biggest inspirations is Mrs. O. They have known each other for three years, with Mrs. O first having her for Honors English 10. She shares what she loves most about Knoblett: “Her fun-loving attitude, spunk, and hardworking attitude.” They have also worked closely together in the student council for the past two years. Mrs. O is grateful for everything that Knoblett has helped her with. She shares one piece of advice she has for her, “Keep your confidence, and don’t let anyone dim your spark!”

For any incoming freshman, Knoblett has one piece of advice for them: “I don’t recommend letting a single grade finalize below a B because it does affect you in the long run.” She would also like to thank her friends for helping her get through high school; they have helped her stay motivated through it all.
We would like to thank Knoblett for all the positive energy she has brought to Concord. She has a personality like no other that betters the school as a whole. We will miss her dearly and wish her the best of luck in any future endeavors!
