This group of freshmen is capable, driven, and energetic inside and outside of school. Many are involved in sports, academics, clubs, and their hobbies, which makes Concord proud to have such a multitude of passionate students. The class of 2029 is ready to make its mark.

Looking forward to the next four years, Peyton Easterwood is approaching them with excitement. He has a passion for playing music and is planning to turn it into a career. Other than music, he enjoys hanging out with friends and playing video games. With many goals in mind, his top goal was to strive for a 3.9 or higher GPA. After a few weeks of school, Easterwood feels “it’s very new and exciting. I feel like people around me and I have grown as people.”
In Ashleyn Vasquez’s free time, she enjoys writing and reading. One thing she hopes to learn this year is to get better at solving math problems. Before starting high school, Vaquez was anxious about the transition and “talking to upperclassmen. I was scared they would make fun of me.” But once the school year started, she realized that wasn’t true.

Being a new student can be tough, but Bentlee Booth is getting the hang of things. Some students feel nervous about the transition from middle school to high school, but Booth thinks “it feels the same.” He is currently playing football and hopes to play basketball and baseball as well. Other than sports, he enjoys playing video games in his free time. During this time, he has not set up any goals for himself, but will in the future.
This year, many of the freshmen have someone they are related to in high school; one of them is Alexis Miller. So far, her experience with her sibling has been enjoyable, especially in band class. Out of Miller’s many goals, she plans to go undefeated in wrestling and/ or attend state for wrestling. To accomplish this goal, she plans to train hard and stay on top of her grades. Throughout the day, she has noticed multiple students demonstrate what it means to be a good role model. As is said, she believes that role models are “sure of themselves”, they “take pride in what they do”, and they “aren’t ashamed to try and fail”.

Having been with the freshman since sixth grade, Ms.Taylor has seen many great strides since then. An example of one of their strides is their confidence in their abilities inside and outside of the classroom. Not only that, but she also believes that the community has shown growth among its members over the years. She thinks that their positive, confident, and passionate group will make a great addition to the high school. Even with this confident group, adjustment can take a while, but she thinks “that they are in the adjustment phase. I think any group takes time to adjust, but we are still adjusting to the new year. They are doing a good job so far, but still have ways to go before they feel comfortable with the adjustments.”
New to the freshman class, Mr.Kaabel has already noticed their positive energy with one another. Within the first few days, he learned that “they really like each other and they’re not afraid to group up with anyone.” Throughout the year, Mr.Kaabel wants to help them grow in persevering during tough times and problem-solving in any situation.
Concord is excited to see the passionate students grow, and a positive mark that the class of 2029 will leave.
