Prom is a night that everyone dreams about, a night filled with laughter, music, dancing and fun. Concord held junior and senior prom on Saturday, April 26th. Students came dressed up with dates and friends to enjoy the memorable night.

The junior class put together a beautiful night for everyone to enjoy. Prom was hosted in Jackson at the Potter Center, located at Jackson College. Mina Slone, a junior at Concord High School, helped with a lot of fundraising for prom, holding events like bake sales, kiss a senior, and many more. Slone states, “A smaller venue would be great, it’s really pretty but too big for us, we don’t have enough kids to fill it, and so that everyone is closer and not so separated. Pinterest was a great help in finding fundraising ideas also.” Many people said that next year a smaller venue would be perfect, since we have such a small student body, and are hoping for more things to do.”

This year, CHS decided to do prom king and queen. Seniors Izzabelle Lagow and Mason Davis were voted king and queen by their classmates. Mason and Izzy are both star students at Concord, and Mason is also a football player. Lagow states, “It feels good, it was more exciting because it’s prom and I feel like that’s more important to me. I was surprised, but once I knew Mason got it, I figured it was me.” Davis added, “It feels pretty awesome, especially since I forgot about it, it felt pretty great.” It’s safe to say that both students are loved by their peers and community.
Grace Thorrez, a senior at Concord High School this year, talks about her experience at prom this year:“Last year I loved the smaller venue, so it didn’t feel empty, and there was something to do everywhere you went, but as a senior, it was a fun ‘one of the last’.e have a lot of those, so it’ll definitely be memorable.” Thorrez always expressed that sometimes you have to make things fun, “Everyone has to dance,” she said, laughing. Grace is known to be fun and playful, and a lot of the time, the life of the party; she walked around talking and engaging with everyone all night.
The 2025 prom night was one to remember, and everyone looks forward to seeing what prom will hold next year.
