Concord High School welcomes a new teacher, Mr. Troy Koszegi. He came to Concord to take the position of Resource and Study Skills teacher. He is an excellent addition to the staff, and we are thrilled to have him.
Mr. K has been teaching for eleven years. He received his teaching degree from Spring Arbor University, majored in learning disorders, and minored in History. He is very excited to see what the future holds here at CHS.
Concord is a small school, but whenever there is a new student or teacher, it could be exciting for the school since we are welcoming someone new. Mr. K explained how a friend told him about an opening spot in Concord, and how the community seemed to be doing good things: “It just seems like a good place with good teachers who are planning good things for the community.”

When asked what he is look forward to he says, “I’m looking forward to getting to know everyone outside of school. As well as attending extracurricular activities, like basketball games and whatnot.”
Mr. K teaches students in both study skills and also has a seminar class. Kylee Van Slambrouck has Mr. K for one of her classes; she explained what she thinks about him and his teaching style: “I think it’s always a good change of environment to have new teachers with their new ways. I think he will help us improve. I like that he doesn’t give up on the harder students who dislike working. He is different from others by how he teaches and the new things he has us doing like math problems, job applications, reading skills, and one-on-one time with the teacher.”
Another student, sophomore Carter Keefer, has Mr. K for a seminar. He adds a few words about him: “I feel that Mr. K. is a good teacher. He is very interactive with the kids. He could help by making students more engaged and trying different teaching methods. I like that he is open-minded. He is different from the other teachers because of how he approaches things, and he’s talkative.”
Mr. K seems like a very determined and educated teacher, and we are happy to have him at Concord!.
