This week at Concord High School students and teachers participated in Soak a Senior! During the seminar Seniors signed up to get soaked and other students paid to soak them. Student donations went towards a leadership project and a good cause, which is usually a surprise for the student body. Seniors Iyla, Danni, Dustin, Drew, Grace, Riley, and Hannah were brave participants along with foreign exchange student Emily Geldart. Teachers Mr. O, Ms. Sigman, and Mr. Lehamn also donated and participated.
Weeks and Fritz are the ones who set up the fundraiser for their leadership class. When asked about her participation, Ilya stated, ¨I participated because it was part of my leadership project; I thought it would be fun for me and my friends who wanted to throw water on me, and it also for a good cause.¨
Dani´s excitement was shown when I asked about her experience. Dani responded, ¨it was cold, but it was still fun to see everyone’s reactions while getting soaked, and it raised a lot of money.¨
Senior Mason Davis was a student who donated so he could get a senior soaked. When asked about his participation, he explained, ¨ I wanted to give back to the school and a chance to have fun with the seniors. He explains his experience as ¨it was fun I enjoyed it, and we should definitely do it again.
Mr. Lehman seems to enjoy events like this more than most students do. His excitement when asked about this opportunity to get his favorite seniors completely soaked was apparent. He explains, ¨ I bought five dollars worth of tickets, I soaked Dustin Hamilton, Hannah Stimer, Danni Fritz, Jaylin Otto, and Grace Thorez. I had two tickets left and dumped the entire bucket of water on Hamilton’s head, and I got great pleasure from that.”
Thank you to all the students and teachers who participated and donated to a good cause.
