With November arriving, there are four new students of the month. Here is some insight into each student that was chosen.
Alyssa Persinger is this month’s freshman choice. In her free time, she enjoys hanging out with her friends and playing sports. When asked what her favorite class is, she responded, “My favorite class is art with Mr. Couling because I like that we can pace ourselves and we are allowed to talk to our friends. Also, if we need to, we can get other work done from other classes.” Since it is only her freshman year, she is still exploring career options. Right now, her goal is to explore and see where life takes her. Persinger adds some tips she has for some others to succeed in school. She says, “My advice is to be yourself and never let someone tell you who you are and never change yourself for anyone.”
Next up is sophomore Lucy Otto. Her hobbies consist of reading, drawing, and playing with her three dogs. In terms of her future career, she is hoping to go into something in the medical field. Otto shares, “I am looking at being an X-ray technician or something in the medical field. I want to do a job where I can help people, and I am fascinated by biology and anatomy. The medical field uses both, so it is a win-win for me.” She adds that she would like to go to Central Michigan to get this degree. Otto also shares some of the tips she has to do well in school: “Ask smart questions. Like ‘What can I do better,’ ‘Where did I go wrong,’ or ‘How can I fix my grade?’ Asking questions like these can help you learn and move forward.”
Bella Coppernoll was chosen for the juniors. She enjoys doing many things in her free time, some of her favorites being cleaning and playing volleyball. When asked what motivates her to do well in school, she responded, “My mom, because she has such a strong work ethic, and she has become a very intelligent woman who inspires me to work hard every day to achieve the goal I want because she worked really hard to achieve her goal. She inspires me to be a hard worker and reach the goals I want to achieve.” In terms of her future goals, she wants to be a veterinarian. Coppernoll explains, “I want to help animals that are sick, and I enjoy being around animals.”
Lastly is senior Jayden Carpenter-Sattler. His hobbies include playing in the band and writing his own music. Next year, he wants to continue with his passion for pursuing music. He shares, “I want to go to college for audio engineering or music technologies. I really like the idea of being an audio engineer after college.” He is hoping to get this degree by going to Jackson Community College for two years and then later transferring to another college. In terms of his schoolwork, his main motivation comes from not wanting to get bad grades.
Congratulations to all of this month’s winners. We hope they continue to do well in all of their future endeavors!
