The Festival of the Forks is a celebration of the founding of the community on the forks of the Kalamazoo River. It is also a symbol of unity and diversity. This festival has been held on the streets of downtown Albion for 45 years and will be held there once again this year. The Festival of the Forks will be this weekend, the 15 and 16 of September. There are a vast amount of events during the festival.
On Friday there will be a cruise-in car show from 3-7 p.m., and if you or someone you know has a car they would like to enter into the show, there is free day-of registration between 2-3 p.m. There is also a 3×3 basketball game happening on the 15 at the Stoffer Plaza upper parking lot from 3-9 p.m. Friday the carnival and petting zoo will also be open for you to enjoy from 3-7 p.m. at Reiger Park
Saturday there will be 120+ vendors, exhibits, businesses, nonprofits, and food vendors that all open at 10 a.m. and close at 6 p.m., so if you are interested in purchasing something then make sure to get down to the festival before 6 p.m. There will also be the Festival of the Forks parade and a children/pet parade at 10 am, so dress your children and pets up in your favorite costumes and also decorate those strollers, wagons, or bikes because all kids and pets are welcome to be a part of the fun. The carnival and petting zoo will also be open on Saturday at 10 a.m. and closing at 6 p.m. at Reiger Park. At the Leisure Hour Club, there will be a cornhole tournament; registration is at 9:30 a.m., and the tournament will start at 11 a.m. The 3×3 basketball will continue to be open on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. at the Stoffer Plaza upper parking lot.
